Glendalough "Valley of two lakes"
Stunning scenery all day on this spectacular day tour to the 'Glenn of the two lakes', located deep within the Wicklow Mountains National park. Enjoy a personal guided (walking) tour of this 6th century monastic settlement nestled in a majestic glacial valley. Our tour provides you with plenty of free time to Explore the valley & enjoy a wonderful walk to the upper & lower lakes.
A trip to Ireland simply is not complete until you visit Glendalough which is famous for its 10 th century round tower, its celtic crosses, and many stone churches. You will be in the area for approx. 3 hours, go for a stroll visit the local heritage centre or just relax.

A truely spectacular vista awaits you around every corner on this day tour of
Glendalough and Wicklow as we travel high over the Wicklow mountains along this road
which was constructed at the begining of the 19th century, across baron peat bogs. Wild
Irish mountains with vibrant purple heather, this area was used for many films, among
them Braveheart, Excalubar,the TV series Ballykisangel,and the Tudors. Why not
have your very own PS I LOVE YOU moment, you know were Holly (Hillary Swank) meets Jerry in the movie, that famous scene with Gerald Butler on the bridge, just ask your guide and he will stop
anywhere along the route.
Glenmacnass Waterfall
Located in Western Wicklow, Mt. Mullaghcleevaun (848m/2,781 ft.). during winter a
raging river runs south at one point, it reaches the edge of a plateau and flows off the edge
quite spectacularly. The valley below is a glacial gem, with a wonderful sheep farm resting
between sheer mountain sides.A perfect location in which they filmed Leap Year.
Avoca Handweavers est 1723
Built on the banks of the Avoca River from where it used to draw its power, visit a working hand weaving mill. The mill
itself dates from 1723, and is said to be the oldest extant manufacturer in Ireland.
The picturesque village of Avoca itself was the fictional home of the BBC's TV series, "Ballykissangel"

We stop for lunch in a traditional small Irish village, with many choices to suite all budgets, perhaps
enjoy a pint of Guinness & traditional Irish stew in a local pub. Or visit one of the coffee shops,
or tea rooms or sit at the river and enjoy a simple sandwich.*Lunch is not in ticket price*
